It becomes really difficult when you start speaking too many languages. Here are all the issues multilinguals have to deal with:
Thinking too many cultures!
Well, life becomes more complicated coz you are trying to keep too many protocols in mind and mincing all those rules into one kebab. Sorry, u veggei? No worries . I have a veggie soya kebab for you. Oh u allergic to soya? No worries, I picked up potato kebabs or tikis, as Indians say, on my way home. Ah...you are watching your weight? Well, then, how about spinach Kebabs?
so on and so forth..... Life is almost impossible in a western society if you were just thinking one culture, one cuisine or one lifestyle.
Words and lingos
Well, I work with Americans, British and Indians. They love to proof read what I write for obvious reasons. I tend to write in a mixed style. And believe me, I would have three set of contradicting corrections if I put them parallel to each other. I just pretend to accept whatever my immediate proof reader suggests as long as they are happy with what is being printed. Accept it! Even in English language, there are writing styles that vary from country to country.
A few months ago, my Indian client asked me to change "a hot destination" to " a popular destination" to ensure that his clients were not offended.
Country-specific environment
OK. this is really wierd. What is happening in India and is affecting people's lives is not necessarily what is perturbing people in North America. So, what does a writer who is a also a globe-trotter do. Well, go check out what is out there each time you get into a new country. So, I tune into local radio and television newscasts, listen to talk shows and try to get a grasp of what is happening nation-wide and drawing people's attentions.
Writing is fun and ever-evolving. Now, you would agree with me, am sure.

When your brains are drained
Do you know this feeling when ur brains are drained....ok something like writer's block. Or, when your creativity seems to be divorcing you. All you can think of....go empty the ink in your pen in a pond.
How do you deal with it.
As a creative writer, I sometimes just can't write....can't even express.
Hate those brainstorming meetings coz they drain my brain all the more.
Am lookin for a creative genie who could just stay put behind my ears...nestle in their and burture my brain cells....or may be when am too dead...but my team is lookin at me for an idea....the genie can quietly whisper into my ears and I can salvage the meeting.....
Only if a genie really existed!
